Human Sexuality and Chastity

• Human Sexuality - is God’s gift to us . We are created according to God’s

  image precisely as “male or female”.
• Sexual discrimination may be seen in the oppression of women through

  domestic violence or sexual crimes, the Filipino machismo Mentality, and the double-standard morality seen in Filipino sexual attitudes and

  relationships. (CFC 1064)
• Sexuality - refers to everything about our being human that makes us either male or female.
• Our sexuality - touches every aspect of our being human, it means so much more than the sexual act.
• Chastity - It refers to the wholesome integration of our sexuality within us.
• Sixth Commandment - “You shall not commit adultery”
• Ninth commandment - “You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife”
• The ninth commandment - reminds us that the source of our sinful acts is our disordered desires and appetites.
• Masturbation - It is an act of arousing oneself by touching one’s sexual organs or other similar means.
• Premarital Sex - It is entering into sexual union outside marriage or

  even long-term exclusive relationship outside marriage
• Contraception – refers to artificial methods and techniques that prevent

  pregnancy
• Prostitution - It is engaging in the sexual act for money.
• Homosexual Orientation – refers to the sexual attraction of a person

  towards same sex
• Homosexual Acts – refers to having sexual relations with another person

  of the same sex.
