  • ORDINARINESS - Means that racism is difficult to address or cure because it is not acknowledge
  • Interest Convergence - it is the notion that whites will allow and support racial justice/progress to the extent that there is something positive in it for them, or a "convergence" between the interest of whites and non-whites
  • Social Construction - thesis holds that race and races are products of social thought and relations.
  • Differential racialization - writers have drawn attention to the ways the dominant society racializes different minority groups at different times, in response to shifting needs such as the labor market
  • intersectionality - th examination of race, sex, class, national origin, and sexual orientation,and how their combination plays out in various settings
  • unique voice of color - holds that because of their different histories and experiences with oppresion, black, american writers and thinkers may be able to communicate to their white counterparts matters that the whites are unlikely to know
