  • cost - all types are expensive so burden can be on different people - eg is a patient goes to care home a cost must be paid - consequence is if cant afford, care option is limited - jews disagree as its highlighting some as more important due to financial state, goes against believe everyone is equal - argued we live in a consumerism society thats filled with financial choices, those who can afford have it and those who cant do without
  • some dont want to live - keeping people alive when dont want to be - lack of compassion as its denying their wants - christians disagree as eolc highlights sanctity of life instead of hastening death - all treatment should prioritise life and is done with compassion - i disagree because its unfair to keep people alive when they dont want to be - highlights we dont care about an individuals as we deny them the privilege of not being in pain
  • funded by the NHS - doesnt have an unlimited supply of money - if money goes to eolc other things like research wont get funded - christians disagree as they think dying people have just as much of a right to live than anyone else - because god gave life as a gift so everyone is deserving - consequence is crucial discoveries wont be made to save lives - choosing to save the dying over those who have life ahead - strong view as it doesnt label anyone as unworthy of life or say that people would be better dead
  • waste of money - people will die anyway - christians disagree as premature death is interfering with gods plan - god decides when life begins and ends humans dont have the power - we dont understand gods plan - i disagree omnibenevolent god shouldnt be forcing people to endure suffering
  • dignity - unable to do simple tasks takes away individuality and dignity - consequence is some would prefer ad as people dont have to die undignified - jews disagree as eolc protects vulnerable in society who would be pressured - prevents chance or error of doctors getting diagnosis wrong - results in people not ending life when dont need to - being pressured into death is more undignified than receiving help - i agree with jews as eolc is done with intention to show kindness
  • doesnt remove all pain - opiods used to block pain receptors but repeated use can result in tolerance so more is needed - can cause depression or sedation - means eolf isnt effective as doesnt take away all pain just gives you different type - jews disagree as suffering is consequence of humans using free will badly so will happen to everyone - suffering cant be explained as its part of gods plan we dont understand - consequence is suffering is something that happens in all parts of life, cant blame eolf as they do all they can - disagree not very good from god
