  • Normal distributions 

    shows how the data is spread around the mean.
    It has the classic bell-shaoed curve
    If data is normally distributed then scores will be clustrerd around the mean.
  • Skewed distributions 

    There are outliers/anomalies in the data.
    An extreme low score will result in a negative skew of normal bell shaped curve and extreme high scores will result in a positive skew of the normal bell shaped curve.
