The ability to produce more of its kind
    • Sensitivity
The ability of an organism to respond
    • Growth
The increase in size and complexity
    • Respiration
The ability to take in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide to make energy
    • Excertion
The removal of waste materials which the cells have made and may be poisionous
    • Nutrition
The ability to take in food or raw materials to support other life processes
    • Nucleus
Controls the activities of the cell, this is were DNA is found
    • Cytoplasm
      Chemical reactions take place here
    • Cell membrane
Controls the movement of substances in and out of the cell
    • Mitochondria
These are where energy is released during respiration
    • Ribsomes
      Where protien is made
    • Chloroplasts
These contain the green pigment called chlorophyll which absords light so plants can photosythesise
    • Cell wall

This is made of strong cellulose (a carbohydrate)
    • Vacuole
This contains water, sugars and salts
    • Organ system
A group of organs working together to perform a function
    • Organ
A group of tissues working together to perform a function
    • Tissue
A group of simular cells working together to oerform a function
    • Why do they need nutrition?

Living organisms need nutrients to provide them with energy and new material for growth and repair. nutrients include things like proteins, fats and carbohydrates as well as vitamins and minerals.
    • Why do they respire?

Organisms release energy from their food by a process called respiration
    • Why do they excrete their waste?

Waste products such as carbon dioxide and urine have to be removed. The removal of waste is called excretion.
    • Why do they need sensitivity?

Living organisms can react to change in their surroundings
    • Why do they need movement?

Organism moves towards things like water and food and away from things like predators and poisons
    • Why do they need control?
They need to control internal conditions, including temperature and water content
    • Why do they need to reproduce?

Organisms have to produce offspring in order their species to survive
    • Why do they need growth?

Even the smallest organisms have to grow develop into the adult form
