• Jesus spoke often about the importance as he felt it deepened a person's relationship with God
• People can pray silently or outloud, in a group or alone, in a church or at home
• Set prayer - have been written down and said many times eg The Lords Prayer
• Informal prayer is a prayer that is said without any formal structure or set of words. It is someone's own prayer
• Christians can ask for forgiveness and confess to Him but also they can give thanksgiving to him
