• The surfaces of the moon is rough and full of rocks and craters
• the moon does not give off light it REFLECTS sunlight to earth at night time
• the moon completes a full rotation and and revolution in 27 days
• we always see the same side of the moon
• on the first day of a lunar month we cannot see it because sunlight falls on the back of the moon
• a lunar cycle takes about 30 days
• when the moon moves in between the sun and the earth it blocks sunlight from reaching earth and a SOLAR eclipse occurs
• when the earth block sunlight from the moon it’s called a lunar eclipse
