• Correlation

  • Looking at the extent to which two things might co-vary these two things are called co-variables
  • The type if descriptive statistics (graph) used is a scatter graph
  • The tests of correlation do not only tell you whether there is a relationship, but also the strengths of relationship and the direction on the relationship
• Positive correlation


  When there is a relationship between two variables and when one co-variable increases so does another
• Negative correlation


  When there is a relationship but when one co-variables increases the other decreases
• No trend


  There is no trend or relationship between two co-variables
