Haemophilia (F8)

• Coded for by the f8 gene on x chromosome
• Haemophillia is coded for by a deletion / substitution / missense / non-sense / inversion mutation
• harmophillia is sex linked
• haemophillia is recessive
• only females can be carriers for Haemophillia, males will die
• haemophillia plays an important role in the sequence of events that take place after blood clot, individuals with this condition will not clot normally (excessive bleeding)
• Haemophillia causes easy bruising that last a long time
