  • When you review a news article, you need to:
    • look at how balanced the article is
    • be careful about news articles that use "anonymous sources" or "sources who do not wish to be identified on condition of anonymity.
  • These require greater scrutiny since they can persuade even just through the presentation of opinions.

    • Are there credible sources cited as evidence? 
    • Are there other articles published or reports publicized that can relate to the columnist's claims? 
    • Did the writer commit any of the logical fallacies
    • Did the writer present both sides of the issue or just focused on one?

  • Literature

  • The literature review-is one of the most important parts of a research paper. It situates your study in the present body of knowledge.
  • A review of existing literature allows you to: 
    • examine what has already been done/proven 
    • explain where previous researches focused on in the past 
    • identify what parts still need to be researched
  • A good literature review has cited sources. It should relate the different researches to one another. The following questions should be considered:
    • Are the researches contradictory? 
    • Did different researches find out the same thing? 
    • Is the research the only one in the field?
  • Cross-Referencing - the act of citing multiple references for a single statement, and the more you cross-reference, the better your literature review will be.
  • Movies whether shown in theaters, via online streaming, and via DVD or Blu-ray are great things to review, for they provide so many aspects that can be reviewed. You do not just look at the story, you look at the quality of acting, the sounds, the lights, the set itself.

  • Food reviews assist diners in making an informed choice about what to eat.
    Give feedback regarding the taste, the presentation, the nutritional value (don't get something that was filled with too much preservatives!), the price, and other traits. 
  • There are websites that provide information about the hotels, the price, and the reviews of those who have stayed there in the past. There are even features that give "star ratings," the highest being five stars. These ratings are averaged. You can base your decisions on these. Comments of users are also placed in the specific web pages of the hotels.
