    children under 16 can't give consent
    • parental - consent gained from parents
    • prior informed - general consent from ppts of things that could happen
    • presumptive - gaining consent from similar set of ppts who won't actually be doing the study
    • consent not given, debrief should be given, ppt given retrospective consent
