• "Tried to warm himself at the candle" =shows that Bob is obedient and he would rather do this than challenge and face scrooge.
• "I'll give you Mr scrooge, founder of the feast" = shows that Bob is generous. He proposes a toast to scrooge despite scrooge cruelty toward him.
