  • in chapter 2 Utterson is troubled by what Enfield has told him, he then visits a will Jekyll had asked him to sign and Mr Utterson believes Jekyll is being blackmailed after visiting Lanyon, Utterson he runs into Hyde who when asked about Dr Jekyll remains ominously secretive

  • In chapter 4 the murder of Danvers Carew takes place a maid says she saw Hyde commit the murder, half of a cane was left at the scene along with a letter addressed to Utterson, Police investigate Hyde's house only to find it ransacked, the oter half of the cane and bits of a burned checkbook

  • In chapter 6 while initially beginning to appear as if he had gone back to his old self Jekyll begins to hide out in his house again whilst Lanyon turns out to also is very ill. After his visit with Lanyon Utterson writes Jekyll a letter asking about his fallout with lanyon. Jekyll blames himself and a few weeks later Lanyon dies

  • during chapter 7 Enfield and Utterson step into Dr Jekyll's courtyard where he is looking out of the window plaintively, soon he metamorphizes in front the two who leave in fear
  • in chapter 8 Utterson is visited Poole who is scared that Jekyll has been murdered and so they go to Jekyll's room and break it down only to find Mr Hyde lying down in Jekyll's room dead after having killed himself inside they find a letter addressed to Utterson

  • chapter 9 consists of Dr Lanyon's retelling of how he found out Mr Hyde was Dr Jekyll
  • Chapter 10 is Jekyll's letter of how Mr Hyde came to be after many experiments and we also learn about his restrictive uprbrining
