When identifying or justifying a stats test, three things must be referenced:
Test of difference or correlation
Experimental design - RM, IGD or MP
Level of measurement - nominal, ordinal, interval
Use the NORIC table to identify the correct statistical test
If there is an IV and DV, it is a test of difference, if there is a relationship between two co-variables, it is a test of association
Test of difference:
The appropriate statistical test is ___. This is because the study is a test of difference between ___ and ___. They used a ___ design because (AO2). The level of measurement is ___ because (AO2 - link to DV).
Test of association/correlation:
The appropriate statistical test is ___. This is because the study is a test of association between ___ and ___. The level of measurement is ___ because (AO2 - link to DV).
