    1. Verify the order
    2. Hand washing
    3. Prepare the equipment
    4. Greet and identify the patient
    5. Explain the procedure
    6. Provide privacy
    7. Assist client to a high-fowler's position
    8. Place towel across the chest
    9. Provide tissues to the client
    10. Detach the tube
    11. Remove the tube
    12. Ensure client comfort. Dispose the equipment appropriately
    13. Assess the nasogastric drainage if suction was used
    14. Remove gloves, Wash hands and documentation
