  • 1913: Home Rule Bill
  • Black and Tans were created by the British of old ex officers to attack the Sinn Feins and Irish nationals in the South.
  • 1921: Anglos- Irish Treaty to put a stop to the war in Ireland and created a Irish Free state, as a self-governing Dominion. As the IRA began guerilla war against the British, who had reinforced the Royal Constabulary the 'Black and Tans', who had used a lot of violence on the Irish people.
  • April 1916: Easter Rising held in Dublin, Ireland was unsuccessful by the Sinn Fein in the South to fight against British rule and gain independence, but was severely repressed.
  • March 1914: Both sides had armed themselves the Ulster Volunteers from the North did not want the Home Rule Bill, while the National Movements opposed. 3 deaths in total and many casualties.
  • July 1914: The Home Rule Bill was to be suspended for the duration of the war (WW1).
  • 1919: Frustration grew due to delays of the home rule bill, led by the members of the Sinn Feins, who won a majority of Irish seats at Westminster in the 1918 General election, to establish an Irish Assembly in Dublin.
  • Ireland stayed neutral in WW2.
