Countries within the British Empire still follow a similar legal system as Britain and in Education, through creation of Universities.

1962: The Commonwealth Immigration Act, it divided immigrants into three different groups:
Those with employment in the UK already arranged
those with skills or qualifications
all others were placed on a waiting list, with ex-service men at the top
