  • Fundamental Skills - Practical skills that a child need for living and being which are sometimes considered basic or functional
  • Locomotor - Movements that allot you to move from one point in space to another
  • Locos - Place
  • Motor - Movement
  • Step - Transfer of weight from one foot to the other
  • Walk - Series of steps executed by both of your feet
  • Run - Series of walk executed quickly in any direction where in only one foot stays on the ground while the other is off the ground.
  • Leap - Spring from one foot and land at the other foot in any direction
  • Jump - Having feet loose contact with the ground
  • Non-Locomotor - Performed in one point in space without transferring to another point
  • Flexion - Decreasing the angle of a joint, to bend
  • Extension - Increasing the angle of a joint, stretching
  • Contraction - Muscle movement, tightens, using sufficient amount of energy in the execution
  • Release - Opposite of contraction
  • Collapse - To delibrately drop the exertion of energy into a body segment
  • Recover - Opposite of collapse, to regain the energy into a body segment
  • Rotation - Move a body segment allowing it to complete a circle with it’s motion
  • Twist - To move a body segment from an axis halfway (front,back,left,right)
  • Pivot - To change the position of the feet or any body part that carries the body weigth ( to turn 360 degress)
  • Turn - Turning movement with a base of support
  • Manipulative Skills - Skills developed when handling an object
