GAC model - shows how energy which controls weather and climate is transferred into to the atmosphere
Coriolis effect - the spin of the earth the deflects wind
The cell between 0 and 30 degrees from the equator is called the Hadley cell
The cell between 30 and 60 degrees from the equator is called the Ferrell cell
The cell above 60 degrees from the equator is called the Polar cell
High Coriolis effect happens between 5-15 degrees north and south of the equator
Air rises at the equator because there is low pressure, then at 30 degrees north and south of the equator the air sinks because there is high pressure.
