MPPP Tropical storms

• Monitor - Satellites monitor precipitation every 3 hours to identify high altitude clouds, Super computers gather evidence and model hurricanes and can give up to 5 days warning and a location within 400km
• Prediction - The national hurricane centre predicts a tropical storms path and intensity using a track cone. 70% of tropical storms happened within that cone.
• Planning - have petrol in a car, know where evacuation shelters are, plan with family what to do, Prepare disaster kits
• Protection - build flood defences, storm shutters on windows, houses on stilts so the water will pass underneath.
