o CNS the brain is the centre of all conscious awareness. It receives information from sensory receptors. This information travels to the spine which is responsible for reflex actions and passes information to the brain, linking with our peripheral nervous system.
o PNS transmits messages to and from the CNS. The PNS is further divided into the autonomic nervous system which governs the ‘automatic’ functions e.g., breathing and heart rate, and the somatic nervous system which controls muscle movement, receives info form sensory receptors.
