Contains the message to be communicated, including: 1) Identifying the purpose of the letter and how the job opening was learned about, 2) Briefly describing professional and academic qualifications and skills, 3) Requesting action and indicating desire for a personal interview with contact information

Serves to end the message, using formal expressions like "Very truly yours," "Sincerely yours," "Very respectfully yours," etc.
