  -Does not require light

  • Takes place in the stroma
  • uses carbon dioxide and NADPH to produce carbohydrate or sugar.

  -Is the process of breaking down complex molecules such as sugar to release energy in the form of ATP(Adenosine triphosphate)

  • Takes place in the mitochondria the powerhouse of a cell.
