• Stridulation – How grasshoppers create sound
• Eardrum – Vibrates as the sound waves reaches it.
• Cochlea – Snail-shaped structure connected to the auditory nerves.

   
• Audible sound - Sounds that can be heard by human ears
• Infrasonic sound - Form of low frequency sound that human ears cannot detect
• Ultrasonic sound - The higher frequency of inaudible sound
• Echo – A repeated sound because the sound wave is reflected.

   
• SONAR – Sound Navigation Ranging.
