• • Shows importance of scientific method, all experiments highly controlled, highly replicable, and show objective cause and effect
• • Research has aided things like depression treatment (studies on role of neurochemical imbalances helps with drug development)
• • Difficult to tell whether some behaviour is evolutionary or cultural
• • Approach is reductionist, as explains complex behaviour as all due to things such as hormones or genes - doesn't take into account cognitive, emotional or cultural factors
• • Genetic explanations dangerous, gives excuse for criminal behaviour being all biological
