  • Might have unconscious thoughts if previously experienced a car crash - trauma + weren't expecting it
  • Didn't provide any therapy to help with any issues
• Ethical - Deception

  • Asked to take part in road safety courses
  • Weren't told the true aims
  • Deceived during leading questions - memory was being tested + weren't told that
• Social implications

  • L+P research has led to new developments in questioning techniques used by police - more aware of the effect of the questions that they ask
  • Costly both economically + to society - Retrials + compensation means gov. has to spend a lot of money. If individuals are wrongfully convicted it also means that the real criminal is still in society + may go on to commit more crimes
