  • [she sprays herself with her atomizer; then playfully sprays him with it. he seizes the atomizer and slams it down on the dresser.]
  • BLANCHE; I laughed and treated it all as a joke, called him a little boy and laughed- and flirted. Yes- I was flirting with your husband Stella!

  • MITCH: You are all married, but I’ll be alone when she goes.
  • STELLA: [sharply] That’s not fun, Stanley. [The men laugh]
  • STANLEY: And when he goes home he’ll deposit them in the piggy bank his mother gave him for Christmas
  • he subsides and is limp in their grasp. They speak quietly and lovingly to him and he leans his face on one of their shoulders.
  • MITCH: You just blew your top, Stan
  • STELLA: In the first place, when men are drinking and playing poker anything can happen
