What is a meander?
A
winding curve
or bend in a
river
or
stream.
Firstly, the river
erodes
the
outside
bends through
hydraulic
action,
abrasion
and attrition
Secondly,
water
moves
slowly on the
inside
of the bend and the
river
deposits some load, forming a gently sloping
river beach.
Thirdly,
erosion
continues on the inside of the
river
, creating a curve
Lastly, this forms a
meander
