  • What is a meander?
    A winding curve or bend in a river or stream.
  • Firstly, the river erodes the outside bends through hydraulic action, abrasion and attrition
  • Secondly, water moves slowly on the inside of the bend and the river deposits some load, forming a gently sloping river beach.
  • Thirdly, erosion continues on the inside of the river, creating a curve
  • Lastly, this forms a meander
