Parts of the brain

• Cerebrum - largest part of the brain
• Frontal lobe - controls thinking, planning, problem solving, and movement
• Parietal lobe - interprets sensory info.; processes taste, texture and temperature
• Occipital lobe - allows recognition of images
• Temporal lobe - processes information senses of smell, taste, and sound; memory storage
• Cerebellum - for muscle control; beneath the cerebrum
• Medulla Oblongata - regulates heart rate, breathing, and blood pressure; controls reflexes of coughing, sneezing, and swallowing
• Pons - handles all unconscious movements and processes
• Midbrain - crucial for regular audio and visual processing
