U-shaped valley

• U-shaped valley is a valley that has been carved by glacial erosion,it has wide,flat floor and steep sides. Glendalough co.wicklow
• Plucking - as ice moves down friction occurs which creates Heat and causes the ice to melt. Melt water seeps into cracks and refreezes as ice move down the mountain it plucks the rock.

  Abrasion-plucked rocks abrade the surface of the glaciers. Scratch marks left are called striations this tells us the direction of glacier is moving.
