    Lies between supine and prone with legs flexed in front of the patient

    Head and torso elevated 15° to 90°

    Head torso elevated 15° to 35°
  • Highfowlers
    Head and torso elevated 45° to 90°
  • Trendelenburg
    Head and torso lower than the heart
  • Reverse Trendelenburg
    Head and torsois higher than the heart
  • Lithotomy
    Lying on back with knees bent , thighs apart and the fittin stirrups
  • Orthopneic or tripod
    Seated at the side of the bed with head resting an on over bed table on top of several pillows

    Face down with head ,chest and knees the examination table, knees bent with rear and up in the air
