  • Molar mass
    • adding up the atomic masses of each atom present in the molecule

    Moles = mass % Mr
  • reacting amounts
    • Write out a balanced symbol equation for the reaction occurring
    • Moles = Mass % Mr
    • Once you have worked out the number of moles of one reagent, use the ratio within the balanced equation to determine the number of moles of the ‘unknown’ reagent
