    A system that ensures the desired quality is met by inspecting the final product to ensure that it meets the required standards.
  • Quality assurance?

    Ensures that required standards have been met at every stage of the process.
  • Quality management?
    • Refers to techniques / tools used to design / improve the quality of a product.
    • Aims to ensure that the quality of goods / services is consistent.
  • Quality performance?
    • Total performance of each department measured against the specified standards.
    • Quality is measured through physical product, etc.
  • Quality management systems?

    A quality management system (QMS) is a system that documents processes, procedures and responsibilities for achieving quality policies and abjectives.
  • Benefits of a good quality management system :
    • Time and resource are used efficiently.
    • Business has a competitive advantage over its competitors.
    • Employers and employees will have a healthy working relationship resulting in happy / productive workers.
    • Improves business image as there are less defects / returns.
  • PDCA model/steps:
    1. PLAN: the business identify the problem. plan the method and approach.
    2. DO: The business should implement the change on a small scale.
    3. CHECK/ANALYSE: use data to analyse the results of change. check whether the processes are working effectively.
    4. ACT AS NEEDED: if the change was successful, implement it on a wider scale. devise strategies on how to continually improve.
  • Role/Importance of Quality Circles:
    • Solve problems related to quality nd implement improvements.
    • Investigate problems and suggest solutions to management.
    • Increase employees' morale and motivation.
    • Create harmony and high performance in the workplace.
    • Build a healthy relationship between the employer and employee.
