• everything has 3 qualities or characteristics(gunas)
• these are sattva, rajas & tamas
• Sattva is purity and goodness,pure consciousness, knowledge, light, truth, goodness, harmony, peacefulness, calmness, happiness, love, wisdom, intelligence, clarity, purity, positivity.
• rajas is passion, activity, movement, energy, change, desire, attachment, ego, anger, jealousy, greed, pride, selfishness, negativity.
• tamas is ignorance, darkness, confusion, laziness, sleep, death, fear, depression, doubt, delusion, illusion, chaos, disorder, destruction, negativity.
• The universe is made up of these three gunas which combine to create everything that exists.
• all living beings have these three qualities to varying degrees

  the combinations are infinite- we all have different personalities
• In the beginning there was only Brahman (God) who created the universe by combining all three gunas together.
• humans are the only things that can change the balence of gunas
