  • began to appear as local congregations for 2+ Christian denominations agreed to work together or share buildings
• Churches Together in England

  • Church of Christ the Cornerstone building is used by Church of England, Baptists, Methodists and Catholics
  • members of all denominations work together to provide care + support in the local community
• Fresh Expressions:

  • takes Christianity to where people are, rather than expecting them to come to church
  • set up in social places
  • worship is focused on the interests + concerns of the people in the congregation
• development of mission to the Christian community

  • 1900: main task was to serve a majority Christian country through local churches of each denomination
  • as things developed, the Church developed partnerships between denominations + began to export the idea of church to other kinds of communities
