  • GBH AR: An act which inflicts grievous bodily harm
    • DPP v Smith - 'really serious harm'
    • Severity of injuries is assessed based on age and health - Bollom
    • Bodily can include psychiatric harm (Burstow) or deliberate infection of a serious disease (Dica)
  • Wounding AR: To unlawfully and maliciously wound
    • Must include breaking of both layers of the skin, cannot be a scratch or a graze - Eisenhower
  • GBH and Wounding MR: Intent or recklessness as to causing some harm
    • Does not need to foresee the risk of the wound/GBH only the risk of some harm occurring - Paramenter
