  • Structure of Urinary System
    • Consists of 2 kidneys, 2 ureters, a bladder and a urethra.
    • Two blood vessels -> renal arteries and veins
    • Kidneys receive O2 blood from the renal artery
    • CO2 blood(purified by waste) goes away from the kidney via the renal vein.
    • The ureters extend from each kidney and open into the bladder.
    • The urethra expels urine from the bladder.
    • A sphincter muscles controls the flow of urine to the urethra.
