What does the independent concilliator do?
The impartial conciliator tries to encourage the parties in dispute to come to an agreement between themselves, and so avoid the stress and expense of contesting the issue in Tribunal or court.
How is concilliation different to mediation?
The process is similar to mediation. However the conciliator is able to intervene in the process and actively suggest a solution.
What does the conciliator do in terms of arranging meetings between the parties?
The conciliator will arrange the meeting at a time, date and place that is convenient to all the parties. The process works the same as mediation, so the conciliator meets the parties privately after they have stated their issues.
