  • Investigation on energy content on food
    1. Weigh a crisp on digital balance and record mass
    2. Use a measuring cylinder and measure 10cm³ of water and pour in boiling tube
    3. Use thermometer to measure temp at start and record
    4. Hold crisp in tongs and set alight in bunsen burner. When lit immediately hold under boiling tube
    5. Once completely burnt take temp of water and record
    6. Repeat steps 1-5 using improved method
  • 1g crisp = temp rise x volume of water x 4.2 = J/KJ

  • Vitamins do not require digestion as they are either water soluble or fat soluble - no enzyme required to digest vitamins
