    Thatcher's strong lead led to the fracturing foundation of the Social Democratic 1981. After increasing her majority to 144 neither Foot or Kinnock could challenge her. Blair who won majority of 179 couldn't be challenged by Hague's weakness and his 165 MPs

    2017: May lost her majority and ended up as a minority leader who faced many rebellions as was the same for Blair in (2005) after his majority declined to 66 seats after the Iraq war
  • Lord Hailsham called it an 'elective dictatorship' due to the governments dominance over parliament
