• Converting a mixed number into an improper fraction:

  whole number MULTIPLIED denominator + numerator = improper fraction
• Converting an improper fraction to a mixed number method:

  numerator DIVIDED denominator = mixed number

  remainder = new numerator

  denominator stay the same
