  • Housing
    House prices and rent are higher in London than any other part of the UK. More people in London rent than own their  house. Those that rent pay more than half of their salaries towards it. At the same time, there are increasing number of properties being valued at over £1 million
  • Education
    There is a clear inequality in exam grades across London but some of the school's in the most deprived boroughs are among the fastest improving schools in the UK. Generally the schools in the areas of high deprivation score the lowest number of GCSE points per pupil
  • Health
    The people in wealthy areas tend to live longer than those in poorer areas of London. The 2011 Census showed the % of people reporting themselves as "Not in good Health" was also highest in the areas of Low income.
  • Employment
    Unemployment remains a major issue to tackle. London's employment rate was 74% in 2016, below the average of 76% for the UK. The unemployment rate was 6% compared with 4% for the UK in 2016
  • Environmental
    Atmospheric pollution creates Nitrogen dioxide (Burning fossil fuels)  and CO2 in the environment - stems from dense road network and high buildings
    Ozone pollution in spring and summer this gas is poison to the human body
    Particulate matter - tiny particles of solids and liquids from suspended in the air. They come from carbon emissions from engines, small bits of metal and rubber
  • Solution to the environmental challenges
    Congestion zone, air quality app and ulez zone and TFL instead of cars
