  • Bacteria are prokaryote organisms as they are are unicellular and lack a nucleus.
  • Bacteria reproduce by increasing in size and eventually dividing into two cells. This is called Binary Fission.
  • Bacteria can be treated with antibiotics either bactericidal or bacteriostatic.
  • Bactericidal antibiotics kill bacteria by changing the structure of the cell wall.
  • Bacteriostatic antibiotics inhibit bacteria by disrupting protein synthesis which stops them from reproducing.
