Bacteria are
prokaryote
organisms as they are are unicellular and lack a
nucleus.
Bacteria reproduce by increasing in
size
and eventually dividing into two cells. This is called
Binary Fission.
Bacteria can be treated with
antibiotics
either bactericidal or
bacteriostatic.
Bactericidal
antibiotics kill bacteria by changing the structure of the
cell wall.
Bacteriostatic
antibiotics inhibit bacteria by disrupting
protein synthesis
which stops them from reproducing.
