  • The main reason given by Liaquat Ali Khan for the Muslim's desire not to continue living in a united India was that they were aware that freedom from British domination would mean to the Muslims not freedom but merely a change of masters.
  • Liaquat Ali Khan states that Muslims demanded a separate homeland for them, because Muslims were Monotheist but Hindus were Polytheist, Muslims believed in the Prophet of Arabia and in Christ and the prophets of the Old Testament, whereas the Hindus did not. The Hindus believed in a caste system, the Muslims believed in the equality of all men. The Muslims believed in the right of private ownership for everyone and have such laws of inheritance, whereas Hindus have no such laws. So, they were different with the Hindus in religious, social, economical and cultural point of view.
  • The creation of Pakistan meant only opportunity for genuine freedom and genuine self-government. To millions of Hindus it gave the same opportunity for developing their own culture, untrammeled by the constant discontent of a large and unmanageable minority.
