McGee and Frueh found a correlation between media exposure and stereotypical views of sex-role. However this is just a correlation so doesn’t necessarily indicate TV is cause, may be because gender-stereotypical children watch lots if TV as it confirms and strengthens their gender schemas they hold. It is also hard to determine the true extent to which media influences gender development due to lack of control groups, media is almost everywhere
