    It blocks the enzyme that the body uses to make cholestrol in the liver
  • What are some advantages of statins?
    Lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and may increase good cholesterol (HDL) to reduce likelihood of plaque
  • What are some disadvantage of statins?

    Must be taken regularly and are side effects: muscle and joint problems and kidney problems
  • Coronary Heart Disease (CHD): A disease of the coronary arteries that can lead to a buildup of plaque, limiting the oxygen to the heart, causing heart attacks.
