Plant tissues:
Epidermal
Palisade
Spongy
Xylem
Phloem
Epidermal Tissue: Covers the surface of the leaf and often waxy for it to be waterproof
Palisade Mesophyll
= The surface layer of the leaf containing a lot of chloroplast for photosynthesis
Spongy mesophyll = Has lots of air spaces and chloroplast for photosynthesis and so that gases can diffuse easily into/out of the cells.
Xylem tissue
= Transports water from roots up through stem to leaves, also
transports
minerals from soil to plant
Phloem tissue
= Transports sugars made by plants during
photosynthesis
around the plant
Main type of plant organs:
Roots
Leaves
Stems
