• FRIENDSHIP AND PEERS - Outside of family, some of whom you may have known since childhood.

• ACQUAINTANCES - Whom you join onlyonce in a while oroccasionally.
• COMPANIONS - Where you share same interests through regular interactions.
• INTIMATES OR BEST FRIENDS - Where you give and receive opinions and support.
• CASUAL RELATIONSHIP - Type of relationship without a real and defined sense of seriousness and commitment.
• ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP - Relating with the element and taste of romance.
• Steinberg (2011) - according to him there are three phases of romantic relationship
• DISCOVERY OF INTEREST - socialization with potential romantic partner
• Dating - form of courtship and gettingto know one another
• Commitment - adolescents think about survival and growth in their relationship with others
• Attraction - Refers to the act, process, or power of attracting and evoking interest, pleasure, or liking for someone.
• Two forms of attration - Crush and Courtship
• LOVE - may mean being very happy, or being on cloud nine, or living in a dream land.
• COMMITMENT - For Sternberg, it is a cognitiveprocess. It happens in the mind and is a conscious effort or decision to love another person.
• INTIMACY - feeling of closeness and connected in relationship.
• PASSION - feeling of romance,physical attraction, and sexual arousal in relationship.
• DECISION/COMMITMENT - short term or long term.
• ROBERT STERNBERG - according to him there are kinds of love
• Liking - Intimacy
• Romantic Love - passion + intimacy
• Infatuation - passion
• Fatous Love - passion + commitment
• Empty love _ Commitment
• Companionate Love - intimacy + commitment
• Non Love - casual ,everyday interactions that do not include love at all
• Liking - feelings of friendship,involves only intimacy component
• Infatuated - love at first sight;can arise quickly, and dissipate justas immediately
• Empty - one is committed to love someone, but both the intimacy and passion are absent
• Romance - liking and being physically attracted to someone
• Companionate - stable,longterm marriages, and can last a lifetime
• Fatuous - commitment is based on passion, but the relationship isn't stable because there is no intimacy
• Consummate - a kind of love many of us aspire for in romantic relationship
• Consummate Love - intimacy, passion, commitment
