  • 1st Consequence of the Fort Laramie Treaty 1868
    1. The Great Sioux Reservation was established in Dakota including the Black Hills. This was exclusive for only the Sioux nation.
    2. This meant that there was resentment for white people as they were not allowed to settle or prospect the reservation despite the Black Hills being so rich in Gold
  • 2nd Consequence of the Fort Laramie Treaty 1868
    3. Not all Indians approved of this and stayed in reservations with the more militant Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse.
    4. This meant that the policy split the Plain Indians into smaller reservations which would prevent future cooperations between the different tribes
