Magnification = image size divided by actual size
To convert from mm to um, you multiply by 1000
To convert um to mm you divide by 1000.
Advantages of a light microscope?
Cheap, portable
Light microscopes have a magnification of around x2000
Advantages of an electron microscope?
Has a magnification of around x2,000,000 which can reach to the subcelluar structures of a cell
Disadvantages of an electron microscope?
Expensive, high resoultion
